Synopsis:
A song composed for the 2010 Global Gamejam, created in under 48 hours. I installed and learned to use Ableton Live during the jam, and wrote this premiere song in what I found to be a much better audio mixing program. While Reason is better at MIDI sequencing, I found Live to be better at tweaking effects and the overall sound of the piece, which led to our team winning the local unsanctioned "Excellence in Audio" award.
The gamejam theme was "Deception", and we also needed to include either "Rain", "A Plain", or "Spain" into our game. We clearly settled on the third option, and designed a bullfighting game where you "deceived" the bull into breaking through scattered crates in a stadium. I wrote this piece to work with sound effects I did for the matador, and the crowd going "OLÉ!", while still retaining some Spanish flavor. At least, I hope so... it definitely fit with the game, at least...
