Sensation & Perception: Experiment 1

Synopsis:
A project for a psychology class at RPI - Sensation & Perception. This assignment concerned just noticeable difference thresholds (JND thresholds), so I designed an experiment testing color perception. Basically, the program randomly generated two colors with a certain intensity difference, across the entire range of intensities. It also fine-tuned the testing differences based on how a subject performed, in order to get more accurate data around their threshold.
The results were conclusive, and showed that people on average can just notice (with a standard 75% success rate) a difference of ~1.09/255 intensity values (std. 8-bit representation). This indicated that most people won't be able to visually perceive any more on OLED screens that support over a billion discreet colors. Oh well, practicality never stopped technological progress before...
Requirements:
XNA Framework 3.0 or 3.1 (Windows only)
Either Visual C# 2008 Express (free) or Visual Studio 2008 (not...)
Note: Installing VC#2008 Express will not break a Visual Studio 2005 install.
